Sketch Paint Pro is a one-component, solvent-based lacquer based on a moisture curing binder system. Sketch Paint Pro turns practically any smooth surface into a writable surface for whiteboard markers. Here applies: the smoother the finish, the easier the text / drawing can be erased. If you also want the surface to be magnetic, then apply Magnetic paint or Magnetic plaster of MagPaint first. Sketch Paint Pro is available in transparent.
Sketch Paint PRO can be used both in a business environment or at home. From living room to bedroom and meeting space to office or public space in a care centre: With Sketch Paint Pro, you define the shape and size of the writable space. The surface of Sketch Paint Pro, can be written on with whiteboard markers and is easy to clean with a soft cloth or whiteboard eraser. Persistent marker stains can be removed with cleaner spray for whiteboards (Sketch Cleaner). Again: the smoother the surface, the easier it is to keep clean!
The area to be painted must be clean, dust free, dry, smooth and free of grease and detergents. Uneven layers of paint or peeling areas of paint must be removed. Sand over the surface with sand paper to give the smoothest finish possible. Following sanding, the surface must be cleaned to remove dust. To clean the surface, simply use a clean cloth which is damp with water only to wipe over the area. Allow to dry thoroughly. Now you can mask off the area to be painted with masking tape. If you are painting a full wall with Sketch Pro you must also mask off the ceiling where it meets the wall and the skirting boards or floor as you will need to roller to the very edges.
PRIMING THE SURFACE
Irregular or highly absorbent surfaces will require a suitable primer to be applied before the Sketch Pro coat can be added. This applies to potential surfaces such as glass, wood, stone, metal, plastic, melamine and concrete. Sketch Pro should never be applied directly onto surfaces such as these as it will not adhere leaving a very poor finish.
PREPARING YOUR AREA AND EQUIPMENT
Sketch Pro should be applied using a short nap roller. Remove loose hairs from the roller prior to use by rinsing it under fresh running water. You should use one roller and one tray per one tin of Sketch Pro. If painting a large area, ensure you have a separate roller and tray for each tin you will be using. This prevents the hardened paint from previous tins contaminating the fresh paint which will result in a poor finish.
APPLYING YOUR SKETCH PRO
Coat your roller well with Sketch Pro and roll over the area in straight lines giving an even coat. Avoid overlapping the paint as much as is possible. Roller up to the very edge of the area you want to cover. Paint Brushes should not be used with Sketch Pro. Coverage must always be maintained at a maximum of 3m² per 0.5L tin with one coat. Stretching the paint too thin will give a patchy and uneven finish, resulting in some areas being dry-wipe and some not. Applying the paint too thickly will cause the paint to run and streak. When painting a larger area and you are coming to the end of a mixed tin of Sketch Pro. Have a new roller and tray ready and prepare your next tin. Then once finished with the one you are currently applying, you can move straight on to the next tin whilst the paint on the area is still wet, preventing obvious overlap marks. Masking Tape must be removed within one hour following application. Score along the edge of the masking tape using a craft knife and peel off. This will prevent the dry-wipe are being left with fuzzy edges. YOU MUST ALLOW A MINIMUM OF 24 HOURS BEFORE WRITING ON THE SURFACE WITH GOOD QUALITY DRY WIPE MARKERS TO ENSURE THE PAINT HAS FULLY CURED. WRITING ON THE SURFACE BEFORE 24 HOURS HAS PASSED WILL RESULT IN THE AREA BEING STAINED AND MARKED.
MAINTAINING YOUR SKETCH PRO
Only use good quality dry-wipe marker pens. We recommend using Sketch Marker Pens as these have been designed to work well with Sketch Pro. For any stubborn marks we recommend using Sketch Cleaner Spray. Never use chemicals or abrasive detergents to clean the dry erase paint. To remove dry-wipe marker pens use a clean dry cloth to wipe away.
Sketch Pro’s dry-wipe properties and durability are covered by the Limited Warranty (details available upon request) providing full instructions for use and the conditions within the Warranty have been adhered to without exception. The final finish of Sketch Pro ultimately corresponds with the skill and method of application. These points are not covered under the Limited Warranty.
NB: If you are using Sketch Pro over Magnet Paint please contact email@example.com to obtain the relevant instructions.

Can I change the colour of Sketch Pro or tint it?
Sketch Pro should never be combined with another paint product. As Sketch Pro is available in Transparent you can use that to paint over your existing décor and have a dry-wipe surface which is a colour of your choice.
What size tins are available and what is the area they cover?
We currently offer a 1.0 Litre tin through our online store which will cover an area between 12 – 14 m² depending on the surface and method of application. Other sized tins are available, please enquire at firstname.lastname@example.org for further details.
What should I do before I begin to apply Sketch Pro?
Prepare your surface well; a clean, dust-free, solid, smooth area will give a better base for Sketch Pro. If the Sketch Pro is to be applied onto an untreated surface, such as wood, we recommend that you apply a primer or base coat first. For full instructions please refer to the ‘TO USE’ section of the Sketch Pro Leaflet.
How should Sketch Pro be applied?
For best results, we offer our own installation service at Cool Walls. You can contact us by email at email@example.com or by phone on 0333 5771190. Alternatively, you can follow the installation instructions previously mentioned on this page.
Which dry-wipe markers are best to use with Sketch Pro?
For best results we recommend using Sketch Paint Dry Wipe Markers but any good quality dry wipe pens can be used. Avoid poor quality pens that can contain some permanent ink blends as they will mark your Sketch Pro surface.
How do I clean the area I have painted with Sketch Pro?
As Sketch Pro is a dry-wipe paint, cleaning with a soft cloth should be sufficient. However, any stubborn marks can be cleaned with Sketch Paint Cleaner Spray. Cleaning with our Cleaner Spray regularly will also keep your dry-wipe surface looking neat and bright.
Is Sketch Pro safe to use in my home, school or office?
Sketch Pro can be used both in a business environment or at home, from the living room to a bedroom and meeting space to office or public space in a care centre. Please ensure adequate ventilation during the handling of the paint.
